At lunch, Max’s Restaurant presented us with a strange mix of pork and chili bathed in coconut milk which was called “Bicol Express.”

My blurry cellphone-camera shot showed a colorful pile of goop that would disgust my Bicolano officemates.

    Definitely not Bicol Express! I just had some authentic Bicol Express the other day cooked by my Tita who arrived from Bicol.
