2 Reasons to be Happy About a (Measly) $2,398.96 Adsense Income
Today I opened my Adsense account, took a peek at my overall earnings and saw that, all-time, I’ve accumulated ONLY $2,300+ income in Adsense. It’s a rather measly amount compared to some buddies who average $1,000++ monthly.
Despite that, I’m still happy because:
1. I took the online income generation plunge. Over two years ago I decided to blog just for the heck of it. Little did I know that my blogging stint would allow me to tap in to alternative sources of income. It did. After gaining a bit of reputation as a Search Engine Marketer, I discovered Adsense – which I truly loved. Google opened a myriad of possibilities for me. I could simply write articles and Google Adsense would send me cash for Advertising. Ahh the joys of online income!
2. It’s all passive income. I’ve learned that as long as my articles rank well on search engines and I place Adsense Ads in just the right places, I’ll get money. Even if I did not write for a while (one time I didn’t write anything for around two months) I’d still get income. I felt like a real-estate investor being paid rent by my tenants. It’s a comforting feeling.
I once decided to try getting a regular $1000 monthly passive income on Adsense but I discovered that it took too much of my time. My regular work (as a corporate slave) suffered.
(As a side note, I still work as a corporate slave because I get the security of a stable income while learning about website development, usability, and UX design. It’s like College but I’m being paid tuition instead.)
The problem with people is that – we can’t help but compare. We are envious of others who make money. Yet, we don’t really do anything about it.
Well this is a challenge for all would-be technopreneurs out there. Why don’t you just try it? Take a “blogging” plunge. Write something informative and useful – then earn a bit from advertising.
The educational experience is worth it.
TIP:
If you want to go into blogging, find keywords that generally describe your niche – like “Philippine Laptops” and get buy the related domain name. Example: PhilippineLaptops.com. Then get webhosting. (Alternative web hosting package). If you get serious into this – get Paypal and write reviews for websites willing to pay. Oh, and here’s an alternative advertiser:
Widgetbucks

Any kind of passive income is always good. Simply because it is passive. Do nothing you get money.
Yeah. Like you Benj! LOL.
Benj is like He-Man.. master of the universe! hahaha

“The problem with people is that – we can’t help but compare. We are envious of others who make money. Yet, we don’t really do anything about it.
” – Ouch! hahaha
ang saya ko siguro pag nakaka 1K$ na me monthly *sigh* dami ko pa need matutunan talaga about blogging. I am a corporate slave as well, kaya nga sana maging enough na yung google earnings ko para magfull time gaya ni Jehz hahaha kaso mukha hinde pa pwede.
heehee…bro I appreciate u keep up ur gud work…
Wow, like what others are saying, that is still a form of a passive income! And $2,398.96 is pretty huge, although, you said you are blogging for more than 2 years. I hope I can also accumulate that much within 2 years of blogging. :)
It becomes a huge value especially when you saved it up first. I didn’t do that but sometimes I wish I did.
