The Upcoming Palm-Apple Multitouch War
A Patents war seem to be coming between Palm and Apple:
You’ve got two large companies, each loaded up with tons of patents and pending patents, only some of which we’ve touched on here, and plenty of reasons to fight this one out: not only is Apple historically protective of its IP, it’s got the massively popular iPhone to defend, while Palm’s more or less staking its survival on the success of the Pre. It’s going to be a bloodbath, right?
Palm Pre is thought to be the REAL iPhone killer because it has almost exactly the same multi-touch features. Palm Pre has a plus side to it – it can copy-paste. :)
The analysts here say that Apple might just throw the first punch. It already threatened to do so:
“…we will not stand for companies infringing on our IP.”
My opinion? Egos aside, they’ll work it out. It would be better business if they just cross-license patents.

Yeah it looks amazing. I’m almost convinced.
I’ve always been a Palm fan. From the Pilot to the Treo. However the last 3 to 4 years has been disappointing for Palm users. I hope this is the one palm device we are waiting for.
