Learn (Three Times) More By Simply Listening to AudioBooks

According to the Audible.com website:

“The average reader gets through only 5 books a year, but the average … member listens to 15 books a year.”

I’m starting to believe it’s true. People may just digest at least three times more info through Audio Books.

Every since I bought myself an iPod Touch, I’ve been voraciously listening to Audio books. Just look what I’ve listened to in a span of 30 days:

  • Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely
  • The Tipping Point by Malcom Gladwell
  • Blink by Malcolm Gladwell
  • Permission Marketing by Seth Godin
  • Purple Cow by Seth Godin

Then look at all the Podcasts I regularly listen to:

  1. CNET news Daily
  2. The Feed by Layla Kayleigh
  3. Attack of the Show
  4. Tekzilla
  5. Diggnation
  6. This Week in Tech(TWIT)

I’m now an audio information addict.

I’m able to listen to all these books when I’m traveling to-and-from work. 30 mins to 1 hour just sitting in a vehicle – doing really nothing. It’s just enough time to finish a chapter or two. Don’t you agree?

Now I listen to some hypnotheraphy sessions on “Thinking Rich.”

Wonder how that works out.

  1. I have read somewhere that to attain maximum “learning” atleast 2 of your senses should be stimulated. therefore listening while reading can be a good approach.

  2. i guess you can’t do that if you’re driving where your senses needs to be focused on watching the road, keep your ears on the passing vehicles, eyes to keep an eye to those annoying motorcycle etc…I do drive my car to work so learning by audio might be difficult.
