Funny Bayan Wireless Landline
Have you seen that TV commercial featuring the Bayan Wireless Land line? Basically there's this guy walking inside a building talking to someone on his cellphone. Suddenly he hears and sees 4 semi-naked guys dancing and singing something like "Sge, gastos, gumastos pa nang gastos" (Go ahead, keep spending...)
I couldn't find the commercial itself in Youtube.
Well, it seems to have stuck in the minds of my friends and relatives. When someone mentions they need a new phone line, they just say "Oh get the wireless landline.. the one where these guys sing.. blah blah blah"
At home, my mom has been using the product itself, a wireless telephone line, for the past few months. She's quite happy with it. In fact, she likes to use it more than our other phone line - a Globe landline that came bundled with our internet connection.
She even likes talking to the call center agents of Bayan. They are quite easy to talk to. When you ask for information about your account, they seem to really KNOW what they are talking about. They appear well-trained.
What piqued my interest was that one could send/receive SMS text to both SMART and GLOBE from Bayan's wireless land line. You also had unlimited call time (to any land line or another Bayan phone) for only around P500 a month.
Now that's a cell phone killer to me.
Convinced by my Mom's experience. I've decided to try it out myself. I bought a wireless landline last Monday. I paid an initial P1,800 for the unit itself.
I prefer calling over SMS so this phone makes sense. I might actually ditch my SMART cell phone for this if I am satisfied.
Bayan's marketing efforts, in this case, might just be working out.
Not so Funny for Globe and Smart.

Hi Lof. So far, from Antipolo (where I live) and from Shaw, Pasig side (where I work), the connection is pretty decent. The lines are clear. I can call you with it!

I have been planning to get bayan wireless to allow clients to call me on a landline. I still cannot ditch my mobile number because it’s all over the internet :)
