Which is a Better Blog Design?
By the way, you might want to learn FREE Internet Marketing Basics (You know, so you can sell stuff online)
I have been scheduled to speak in the upcoming WordCamp Philippines event. My talk focuses on “Organizing & Optimizing Your WordPress Blog.”
In preparation, I’ve conducted some tests on this site (Jozzua.com) to use as sample data for the talk. I’m doing what is called an A/B test. Basically, I have two different versions of this site displaying to visitors of this site. One design uses the Structure Theme from Justin Tadlock. The other is from CatsWhoCode.com.
Which is better?
First my definition of “better.” I used Adsense click through rates as my basis of “better”. I wanted to find out … given an one advertisement size and location (large ad just below the title of each post), which one is more profitable?
And what did I find out? Well, it seems that one design came up with a better Ad conversion rate. In general, the design was about 4-6% while the other one was just around 3%. The tests were done for two weeks, however, and isn’t really conclusive. Still, it’s an educational way to look and website designs.
Which one was better? Well you have to attend WordCamp to find out… or wait for me to post it here after WordCamp.
