How Do You Brand Yourself?

My Personal Logo - JozzuaA simple lesson I learned from Marc - keep something recurring that readily identifies who you are. It can perhaps be an image or color combination that will give people instant recognition. Ahh, yes that’s him/her. He/she’s pretty good.

It’s called branding.

Keeping that in mind, I’ve decided to keep my avatar as a simple branding of me and my personal blog. I even put it in my business cards now. You can see it in my twitter, my friendfeed, my yahoo and most other applications that require a small square image.

Let’s look at how some friends effectively brand themselves:

Marc - Mr. SEO Philippines
Mikey - Rising Internet Star
Riz - Pink SEO
Aileen - Ms. Google Philippines
Mae - Front End Web Developer

Me - Jozzua. Hmm. I realized that probably doesn’t mean anything, does it? You see, I didn’t really want to be caught up in a very specific catch phrase. Now that I think about it though, the closest I would want to be thought of was Ely/Jozzua the Technopreneur.

Well it turns out I don’t need to think about it. Rex, a resident developer, just gave me a nice memorable adjective - MAGNIFICENT. This is what he used to describe me in our recent SEO Talk.

Henceforth, you may now all call me MAGNIFICENT ELY the TECHNOPRENEUR magician!

Seriously though, I think Rex found a nice adjective for Riz (LOVELY) and thought…”Oh I also have to think of something for Ely!”

Thus…. Magnificent. Made me laugh but what the heck.

Forget about me. Let’s talk about you. How do you brand yourself or your company? Share it!

As long as the “brand statement” is both recognizable and memorable, then you’re in good shape.

Mine is “personal branding expert for gen-y”

“The Magnificent Technopreneur”, very cool Ely! Pwedeng pang-wrestling din, hehehe, joke! But if you look at it, we can learn lot about personal branding among professional wrestling’s superstars. :) I have asked that same question myself and have always wanted to be considered a “tech-evangelist”, and I still do, but now primarily for all things Purple! ;)

@Dan: Nice one. Nice blog as well.
