Trying Out Some AI software

A couple of years ago, I was really into this - Artificial Intelligence. I actually downloaded the software from this site and experimented with the AI application.

I was recently surprised to find out tha the software from Zabaware actually won the recent 17th annual Loebner Prize Competition for Artificial Intelligence (AI). Wow how time flies.

For those who don't know:

The Loebner Prize for artificial intelligence ( AI ) is the first formal instantiation of a Turing Test. The test is named after Alan Turing the brilliant British mathematician. Among his many accomplishments was basic research in computing science.

Basically, the AI software works like this - it is a 'chat' software that responds to what computer users type into it. The input is processed by an algorithm and grabs content from a pre-existing database. The algorithm also takes care of structuring a response. The response is usually in the English language and would appear to have been written by another human chatter.

In fact, that is what the Turing test is all about. The software basically tries to fool some judges into thinking that they were chatting with a real person.

There is actually another ai project that tries to create a truly intelligent chat bot but their approach is much different. This particular project focus on the "learning" aspect of bots. For bots to talk with you, you have teach it how to respond.

If you'd like to test it out, Zabaware's Artificial Intelligence software is available for download as a free 30-day trial. I really think that this will be the next iteration of search engines. You just chat with them and they will give you the information you need.

Now how would you SEO for a chat bot?
