Having the eon card and linking it to paypal is a breeze. I applied for the eon card last saturday 11/12/2011 online got a confirmation on my mobile after 2-3 hrs. that it is already available on the branch i choose to pick the card up. I choose the branch in shangrila i went there Tuesday 15/11/2011 and got my card in less than 30 minutes. You have to make sure that you have your reference number and P350.00 for annual fee and 2 valid id's have them photocopied before going to the bank. I then enrolled my eon card to my paypal account, paypal debited P100 to my eon card and asked for a 4 digit pin. I registered online for eon banking but it takes 24 - 48 hours before you can use it so i just called the unionbank hotline and got my expuse number in just 5 minutes. So i registered that on my paypal account and i now verified and my 100 is due to be refunded in 24 hrs.

I planned to have an EON Card from union bank. But It is disappointing now that I've learned the two problems with Union Bank EON Card to PayPal setup. However the process may improve in the future time. So we'll just observe and get some updates with it from time-to-time.

My PayPal and eon are friends. lol
Try to consider these things
1. When you link your eon, be sure you click on debit card, not credit card. EON is a debit card!
2. When you transfer funds, transfer it to your bank account, not to your card. Your funds will still be deposited in your card. It usually takes 2- 4 days to do that.
3. Last, the two sets of numbers visible in your card are totally different. One is bank account number, the other is card number. Be sure to provide the correct set of numbers.
I hope it helps!

Hindi puede, kasi bago ka maka withdraw from paypal you still need first be verified by Paypal. Now if the paypal account is owned by your sister then yung EON na pang verify mo ay name din ng kapatid mo dapat at hindi iyo. PAYPAL WILL REJECT IT IF TWO DIFFERENT NAMES.

I had the exact same problem. Their system kept saying it was ok with no restrictions but I still couldn't use it. When my wallet was stolen, I went to the nearest Unionbank (my branch was in Gilmore and I didn't have time to go there) and asked if I could apply for a new one instead. The girl at the bank said I could just file for a replacement, so I explained my issue.

One way or the other, they were able to get my card activated. I initially just wanted to get the money in the account, but in order to do that, the account has to be active. I haven't used it in two years (it took me that long to attend to this issue) so it was stagnant. I deposited P100, and they deducted P150 for the card replacement. I got my card a week later and after 24 hours, tried to withdraw via the ATM and it worked.

I don't honestly know what the problem was. I'm still pissed off at Unionbank's shoddy service and their insistence that the account was ok when it wasn't.

I have been many miserable experience on dealing with my pay pal to my eon. from opening the e-bank and some others, until to this time on.

I am really desperate using my eon with union bank with paypal transaction. I had this experience before, transferring my money from paypal for the very first time, and it took me, annoyingly, three weeks until i finally knew that i had he problem with the personal information. It should be the same info that you entered at paypal even a period of it counts much as they said. Now, i changed and edited my personal information yet things went the same, disgusting. the money was returned back to my paypal less the transaction fees. I tried asking my friend to transfer my money to my eon bank to bank and it works. And tried again transferring money from my paypal to my eon, but until now it is not reflected to my e-account/union bank - good enough it is only 10 dollars trial. it's not also returned to my paypal.

What i am doing this time is transfer my money to verified paypal account of my friend and withdraw the money from their bank. but it is more expensive because i need to pay a disturbance fee of 500 (but it is my own will, seeing that i have disturbed much to her time and effort of going with me when picking up the money).

anyway my eon can be used in sending money but not from paypa. it can still be used bank to bank transaction.

Further, i lost the pin no. of my eon, i tried getting new card with the same account no. and I tried using it again hoping things would go smooth. I opened again another e-bank account for the card no. this time is changed and so the pin no. thus i made the trial of 10USD, in vain.

I don't know what to do anymore that my eon will have a good relationship with my paypal. they are not friends at all. lol.

I thought of opening again another paypal of the same personal information. and tried transferring 1 dollar to it from my first paypal account to my second paypal account, though they vary of the email account, yet the paypal detects that the same information is being registered. it didn't work out.

I think i need to register again with my husband's identity and will take another eon card of his name. and there i can transfer my paypal money to his and pick the money to his eon whick linked to his paypa. But this would mean a transaction fee. usually 16USD being deducted.

Ohhh help!.. i am saying this plight here so some may know this is what possibly happen to them.

don't have a cheerful face with this scenario. :(

Eon debit card is from Union Bank. While others were very happy using this product, I am so upset with it. Two weeks ago I was able to get my Eon card. The bank staff told me that activation is within 24 hours. So my account is already activated. The problem is, when I check my balance in the ATM is always says "Sorry invalid account number". So I went to the branch again to ask for help with my problem. The bank staff immediately emailed the Customer service regarding my problem and she asked my mobile number so she can contact me. After a few hours I received a message from the bank staff saying that my account and EON card are active with no restrictions. I checked my card again but still ATM says "Sorry invalid account number".

So I went to the bank branch again. The same scenario happened. They emailed the CSR then asked my number then send me a message saying everything is okay according to their system.

I was really so upset that until now that I can't use my EON Visa Card. What's the use of having this card if I can't access it using an ATM and I can't link it to my PayPal Account???? That's the very reason I applied for the EON Visa Debit Card. My balance in PayPal and oDesk are stuck there. What's the use of having those balance amount if can't convert them to cash!!!!

Maybe the technical person in that bank are not so good as they can't figure out what is the problem!!!
