Confirmed: Get PayPal Money Through UnionBank EON

After John's post on card services supporting PayPal Philippines, I had to confirm with someone who actually had one of the cards identified. I chatted online with Noli Mirador, who had a UnionBank EON card. See a short transcript of our converstion (sorry, for non-Pinoys, it's in Filipino):

Bok: na try mo na paypal
Bok: ?
Noli: yap
Bok: does it work?
Bok: naka withdraw ka na?
Bok: pwede na send receive e
Noli: sa eon not yet.. pero dumadating lahat ng nagbabayad sa paypal ko..
Bok: ahh
Noli: were you from?
Bok: pwede raw withdraw form EON
Bok: from EON
Noli: yap..
Noli: pagka withdraw mo to card sa paypal, after 5-7 days daw ang clearing..
Bok: wow
Noli: un kung verified na eon mo..
Noli: heheh
...
Bok: thanks sa heads up
Bok: on the EON thing
Noli: np
Bok: so nasubukan mo na nga yung EON? kaso 7 days to clear?
Noli: yap..
Bok: magkano nga pala charge
Bok: extra charges?
Bok: sa pag transfer from PayPal to UnionBank?
Noli: i think sa paypal per transaction/withdrawal is $10
Bok: ok thanks

So it seems to work like this: You transfer your money from PayPal to your UnionBank Account. It takes around 5-7 days to clear. When it does, you can then withdraw the cash. Hmm. 5-7 days is a long clearing time (but still personally okey by me). There is a transfer fee of around US$10.

What's great about UnionBank EON is that you can actually apply for it online and just pick up the card. It takes only P350 to open it up.

I suspect a lot of people will get this card. I'm applying for one right now.

UPDATE: From my friend, Angelo (about getting UNIONBANK cards online):

Angelo: They will call you when your card is ready for pickup tapos bayad ka lang pagkuha mo.

So, when your UnionBank card is ready, they will call you. You pay for it when you get it.
