Easy Two-Minute Batch Image Processing
Posted by Jozzua on Sep 18, 2007 in Uncategorized • 1 commentHere’s the scenario:
You’ve got around 300 images in your Pictures folder (within sub folders) and need to create a new batch of images that must not go beyond 200 pixels width and 150 pixels height. How do you do it?
My first thought was to individually edit each image in all the sub-folders. Luckily I knew a graphic designer and asked for some help. He pointed me to a nice free image processing software called XNView.

Using the software, I chose the options I needed. I set the image limits to 200px width and 150px height. I checked on the decrease image (and not increase image) size. This mean that images bigger than 200 x 150 pixels would shrink size but those smaller not necessarily grow bigger. I opted to have all the new files saved in a new folder. Viola! Within moments, I had all the resized images I needed.
What would’ve taken me hours to do took less than 2 minutes. If you ever need instant thumbnails of all your images, try this nifty XNView app.
