Who put the I in Google?
The other morning I opened my browser and saw the my Google home paged had changed. Having left the laptop turned on the previous night, I figured somebody must’ve used my computer. I knew about personalized Google, but I was struck by the odd-looking “I” in front of the word Google. iGoogle? What was this all about?
I turned to my officemate and he told me… “It’s a virus going around. Computers everywhere are getting infected by it.”
I half-believed him when my other officemate opens his browser and says “I have it too!”
That would’ve been a clever April fools joke. I remember our sysad once played practical joke on us by inverting images that passed through our router. It was a funny prank and I almost believed the iGoogle thing was a joke too.
Well, the truth is… there is a REAL iGoogle thing going on. It’s the new personalized Google brand. Have you tried it out yet?
Oh… yes, my G homepage also got an i on the start! mukhang ginagaya na nila ang mac. hehehe.. tapos ang yahoo naman sa microsoft! Coincidence!
