Benj Arriola, a Filipino based in San Diego, wins the prestigious 2007 World SEO Championships. He grabs top spot and wins a brand new Citreon C2 with his website on Global Warming Awareness.

When asked about the win, Benj replies:

I feel I am very fortunate to be surrounded with the right people. As Aaron Wall has mentioned before… “the Internet is a large social network”.. it really is in itself a big social network. Keeping good relations with everyone is always a plus, online and offline… Definitely my win could be attributed to the people I help and share knowledge.

When asked what message he could send to his local fans, he comments:

Well I really don not consider myself like a celebrity to say I have fans. *LOL* although it sounds flaterring. Everyone in SEO Philippines are my friends. I consider them more of friends than fans. But if ever I do have some fans, all I can say is SEO is not all about ranking. Although I am number 1 in this contest, SEO in the real world is a lot more than that. Conversions will be your next problem. So just strive and learn more.

Search Engine Optimization(SEO) is the process of making a website rank high on search engines for keywords. The SEO World championship is arranged by GetUpdated, an SEO company based in Sweden. .
