Our company is an exhibitor at the Manila FAME — here at the PICC Forum. In preparation for the event, I’ve drafted a couple of marketing fliers. My officemates are distributing it around now.
Here is my Ad copy header:
Aren’t you frustrated that you could actually be making much more from your existing business - if you only knew how to get more clients to your website?
Pretty catchy, eh? As a web marketing enthusiast, I get to practice my copy writing skills a lot. I regularly read copyblogger.com. I suggest you do too. It gets me to improve my writing.
At the end of one of my fliers, I invite the other exhibitors to drop by our booth where we have free coffee. Yesterday I had a number of visitors and I explained to them, in very simple terms, how an effective internet marketing process would go. I was continually talking for around an hour. By the end of it, I lost my voice.
Today several people approached me again and I explained how the process works again.
I had to use old school marketing concepts for businessmen who weren’t Internet savvy. I spoke to one big exhibitor here. He explained that they were frustrated that their website. It didn’t do much for their bottom line.
I gave him a mental of how to make an effective web marketing campaign. I told him that the web site should be compelling. It should get email leads. Communication with potential clients should be constant.
I compared the website to an exhibit booth. “You set it up, people visit and leads come in. From those leads, sales are made.” The website should pretty much act the same way. Unlike the real exhibit, though, web visitors can only see pictures. In real life, people can touch, feel and scrutinize products.
I then explained that the website should work complementary to the exhibit. Months before the exhibit, a marketing campaign can be implemented. The website is advertised and leads are generated. Once there is a mailing list of prospects, the exhibitor can invite them to actually visit the booth and SEE the items first hand.
At the end of our discussion, he told me “Talk to my daughter.” I looked at where he pointed and saw a cute young lady entertaining some guests in their booth. She was busy at the time. I do intend to meet her soon.
On my mind, I thought “Please, go ahead and pick my brains.”
We will see what happens.
