Women’s Home Based Business

I’ve noticed a number of women going into online home-based businesses. I personally know two who are into web design, another two into copy writing, several who are into blogging and one who is a home-based employee. The trend indicates a real opportunity for women who would like to work from home. What opportunities are available?

• Web Design – A lot of women love to go into design work. They like working with patterns and colors and little things that catch the eye’s attention. Web design work requires computer literacy. It blends technology with the arts. A web designer can get a design gig for P10,000 (US$200) per project. As long as she gets the leads, she can be sure to get some solid income. Incorporate a bit of web hosting services and she can also get some passive regular income.
• Copywriting Services – another trend I’ve noticed that women go into are creative copy writing. There is a solid demand for copy writers of the proliferation of SEO work. Copywriters are responsible for writing advertising copy and generating creative concepts, often in collaboration with an art director or creative director. This can either be a regular writing engagement or a per-article setup. Last I checked copywriting work can go $10-$20 per article.
• Blogging – Women and blogging seem to mix very well. Females like to share their thoughts and emotions. They sometimes strongly feel about issues around them and write freely. Fortunately, there are now blog networks that would hire women to write blog content. There is an advertising revenue that is shared among the writers. I know of a blog network who will pay $50 monthly plus a percentage of total Advertising income.
• Home-based Employees – companies are now more open to individuals who work from home. Some tech companies going international sometimes prefer to hire just one person to serve as a consul. That person initially works from home. There are also some US based tech operations who actively search for programmers and SEO experts. They accept work from home terms but require a tracking software be installed on a employee’s computer. This allows them to track the hours of actual work done.
