Through Stellify’s link about the Comelec, I discovered the dreaded privacy nightmare.

The Philippine Commission On Elections (COMELEC) has just given up your private info to everybody online. They may have had good intentions with this - to make info public knowledge. This is a wrong way of doing it. If you are a registered Filipino Voter, you better start getting angry because other people are seeing personal stuff about you.

What are the implications of this big blunder? You may just be getting a whole lot of junk mail soon. Your Name and Address are shown on the web. People can actually STALK you. They’ll even know your birthdate!

  2. please remove the link to the actual database ASAP, to stop it from reaching even more, and possibly malicious, users

  3. @xahbbx: Did you see the link to the actual database? I didn’t even put it.

I know they’re trying to promote transparency in the elections, but, please excuse the profanity, what the fuck were they thinking?!? Were they thinking at all?!? Do they even have brains?!? [...]
