Three Fundamental Rules To Make Web Pages That Sell Online

I’m reading a great book on Web Copy That Sells: The Revolutionary Formula for Creating Killer Copy Every Time. The book gives three fundamental rules for web pages that sell online:

  • Don’t make web pages look like Ads- the basic idea for product sales pages is not to make the webpage look like a sales pitch. Make sure that the website gives valuable, relevant information. People are turned off by hard sellling. The idea is – give them info first, then sell later.
  • Stop Readers dead in their tracks- your web page should be very catchy. It should be good enough to get visitors to actually stop and scan the rest of the page. This is something that could be done by continuous web page testing.
  • Capture Email Addresses – and start a relationship with your customers

I simply love reading these kinds of books. I’ve actually applied these principles on my sales web pages. I can tell you that it took me a while to actually grasp the practical ways of implementing them. I’ve put the knowledge I learned on the book to good use.

I’m happy to say that I’ve sold products following the rules above. Try to apply how these will work for you.
