You know what? Flores didn’t invent the Florescent Lamp. This is what the international scientific community agrees on. As soon as I read it, I was flabbergasted. Impossible! This is another attempt by those western thinkers to devalue of Pinoy heritage! Argggh!
This is almost as bad as Pluto not being a planet anymore.
What? Did they just trick us in school? Nope. Technology has simply evolved to a point where any information is a the tip of your fingertips. Any kind of info - factual, irrelevant, nonsense and bogus, is easily accessible on the net. With that kind of technology, what we knew back in our school days can be changed in a zip. Little things that we took for granted are much different now. I didn’t even realize that the National Oath (Panatang Makabayan) was changed. Even the Philippine Alphabet has gone through some iterations.
This makes me wonder about TV Advertising. Is it still effective today or are online Ads catching up to it?
Some Lessons in school have been changed. Kids, be sure to tell the adults!

Oh… I’m Filipino-Canadian and this is the first time I ever heard of this fact or fiction thing about Flores and the fluorescent lamp. I didn’t even know who Flores was, until now. Hmm, you learn new things every day on the Internet, huh?
