Krispy Kokak, err Kreme in The Philippines
The popular US dough nut brand, Krispy Kreme, is now in the Philippines. They have a shop situated in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

My officemate and I visited it on opening day and found ourselves facing a long line. We didn’t think it was worth the hassle so we just went back to the office. We took a cab and on our way back, we saw Krispy Kreme’s competitor, Gonuts Donuts. We stopped, bought 2 boxes, and enjoyed our snacks. A box of six-dozen donuts in GoNuts Donuts cost 110 Pesos (just over 2 US dollars). Each Donut is almost worth P20 pesos.
Two weeks later, someone brought a Krispy Kreme box to the office. We tasted it and found that it wasn’t too different from GoNuts Donuts. My officemate was quite disappointed. We actually liked GoNuts Donuts more than Krispy Kreme! A Krispy Kreme donut is worth at least 30 Pesos.
We joked around. Perhaps we should create a shop that sells Filipino delicacies shaped like frogs and call it Krispy Kokak. (”Kokak” refers the local version of a frog’s croak). Our Krispy Kokak might actually sell more than these donuts.

six-dozen??? i think this is a typo error.
Well, an article I found online (have to find the link again) said that GoNuts Donuts ‘copied’ Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
Granted its true, the “mirror” defeated the “original”. I and other people I know agree that GoNuts Donuts is way much better than Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
For sure Krispy Kreme will argue that they lost a good share of the market because GoNuts came out first. They will argue that being the “first” is a key in dominating a market. They will say later that, “the yardstick is how long will they (GoNuts) be able to keep their market share”.
Of course Krispy Kreme didn’t say those words, but I’m sure they want to say those statements :p It’s competition afterall, and strong words are part of the strategy.
Yup you’re right D, it’s a typo error. One-dozen.
