Yesterday I reached US$100 on Adsense. I know it’s not much compared to others out there, but it’s a start. August has been a great month for me. I got a couple of good high paying clicks to my site this month.

I started only blogging January this year. When I started, I had zero practical knowledge on blogging and search optimization. I’m happy to say that now, 8 months later, I know quite a bit of practical info that I think I can leverage on some more adsense income soon.

The basics I’ve learned so far:

  • Keep learning, keep studying, keep looking. There’s always something new to learn on the web. We just need to look for it, learn form it and leverage it.
  • Most of the theoretical stuff is already on the web and we just have to find out how to apply it, practically, for our own scenario. For example, I keep reading over and over the concept of “finding your own niche.” The question is, how to find a niche that is profitable for you? Once you find it, how do add traffic to your site and generally make it more visible on the web?
  • The basic principle is still the same: In-through-search-engines, and out-to-ads. You’ve got to get traffic through organic link building and, as much as possible, have relevant Ad links that they would go out to.
  • Learn Search Engine Optimization and Web Marketing! It really helps in getting traffic to your site.
  • Learn where to position your Ads! Generally, the prime real-estate areas on a site are where the readers browse first. Where do you think that is? Hint: Look at where my ads are.
  • Don’t try to fool/trick Google and don’t grow too fast. I’ve heard a number of stories from fellow bloggers of the perils of being Adsense banned. Be careful!

In my original estimates, I thought I’d be getting to US$100 by December. I reached my goal earlier but not early enough. Now, I’m targetting a higher monthly adsense revenues. I hope I can make it.

Excellent. Don’t spend you money all in one spot.

I managed to go from peanuts to chump change this month. If I make this much every month, it will cover hosting and URLs.

Now I’m going to work on paying for one ticket to a movie each month, too.

Hey Jozzua. Congratulations to you. Although earning through AdSense is becoming harder than ever, as more Internet users become AdSense blind, I encourage you to explore developing your own e-products to build new income stream. All the best to you!

Ey Mike and Jannette! Thanks for dropping by.

Mike, yep. I’ve also got my domain name covered. At least that’s ok.

Jannette, thanks for the tips.
