What Would You Trade for a Pair of Earrings?

Have you heard about that one-red-paperclip guy? Pretty inspiring story. He essentially traded up from one paper clip, kept on trading until he got a house. Pretty cool, huh?redpaperclip.jpg

I think events like these make craigslist still important to the net. Somehow, if you really find a way, you can get the things you need. In this case, Kyle leveraged on the Internet as a communication medium to be able to trade up.

My sweetie says, “You will be surprised what people would trade for.” Well, I am. Who would think someone could trade a paperclip for a pen, then a knob, then a barbeque grill.. up to a house? It’s crazy. Still, there is a theory of relative values here somewhere. Something unimportant to you may be extremely important to somebody else.

Now I know that redpaperclip guy was successful there in North America, but could you do something like that here in Asia? I sincerely doubt it, but this has sufficiently piqued my curiousity to try an experiment.

My sweeheart likes to make creative beadstuffs. She made these cute little earrings:

She’s willing to trade this with something we may find interesting. Care to try out this experiment with us? Don’t get us wrong, we’re not aiming for anything as big as a house (although that would really be great). We just want to trade this earrings pair for whatever you’d offer.

I’m willing to go anywhere around the General Metro Manila Area for this trade (preferably somewhere accessible to the MRTs/LRTs). Anything farther than that and you would have to include an airfare travel with your offer. :) Just leave me a message and I’ll respond back to you ASAP.
