A Katipunan Dorm

It seems there are a number of people looking for a dorm in Katipunan. This is no surprise since several top schools can be found here – Ateneo, Miriam and University of the Philippines (UP) are just close by.

For your info, there are a number of Dormitories along Katipunan, Quezon City, Philippines. Just take a stroll along Katipunan, and the street parallel to it (Esteban Abada, i think). You’ll notice many student residences.

I’m familiar with a ladies dorm called Dormitoryana. They’ve got a nice quite place, a study garden (for students), a small prayer room, and Internet access (straight to your room!). It is found conveniently in front of Miriam College.Establishments just outside the dorm include Ken Afford (a restaurant), Rustan’s supermarket, Citibank, Equitable bank, and PC Express. Despite that, the dorm prices are competitively priced.

Check it out!

  1. hey, i used to stay in dormitoryana… my laptop, money, and jewelry got stolen there (in my room! good God.) so i’m looking for a new place. hehe.

  2. Hi Joelle, I heard about that incident. Good luck finding a new place.

  3. We have successfully ran SMRC’s Dormitoryana for the last 26 years and have provided countless of students and professionals a home away from home. Incidents of theft are not a norm in our facility. We assure tight in-house security through closed circuit systems, double room locks and 24/7 guards, among others.
The safety and welfare of our residents are our top priorities.

  4. What are the rates at Dormitoryana?

  5. ^yea, i also would like to know the rates and the rooms available.

  6. @jo, tinne:
We have different rates for different room types. Rooms range from 1 to 4 people per room. To give you an estimate, per person, range of rent is P2,600+ to P4,000+.
Please check out our website, http://www.smrcdormitoryana.com or call us at (+632) 4337994 to inquire about the rates and availability of rooms.

  7. you should check out a new dorm along katipunan called Oracle Residences and Dorm. Located in front of Ateneo. They have this Hi-tech security system that makes feel safe. New, clean and on prime location

  8. Yea!! I agree! Check out Oracle’s updated website!
I honestly like how it looks too the rooms and everything plus it’s affordable, safe, and convenient.

  9. Yeah kalaban nyo MyPlace.

  10. Oracle ex-dormer

Oracle dorm sucks! Poor management (Misael, the dorm manager is an asshole). Management does not listen to dormers’ comments and suggestions. Looks good outside but really sucks when you live there. Overpriced. Cockroaches. Noisy construction. Poor room design. No dorm activities for dormers. No elevator. Electric and Water bills are overcharged. Several dormers last year left Oracle even before their contract ended.

  11. Hi. Uh,I’m an incoming college freshie next year. I saw all the comments and it’s kinda difficult for me to decide whether to stay at the oracle, dormitoryana or my place. Please, help me decide. And,is it really true that the oracle is not a good place to stay at? Because,it’s actually my first choice. And now i’m confused. HELP!
