I have a hard time remembering people’s names. I know the face, but don’t immediately associate the name to it. One of the things that I dreamt of inventing was a pair of eyeglasses that would recognize people for me and tell me their names. It would be very useful for parties.

It would probably use something like microoptical’s viewers -which is like a small monitor on one’s eyeglasses, but probably not too obvious to other people. It would be attached to a computer that has software for facial recognition. I HEREBY PATENT THIS PRODUCT IDEA HERE! (As if that works).

Now, with some cool new facial recognition technology out, something like this could actually be in use in the next 2-3 years. Check out riya.com, which has just launched? a beta of a cool facial recognition technology web application.? They have a video demonstration at demo.com. Really cool.
