Link Building

So I asked Migs Paraz one time on what he thought about these link-building websites. You know, ones that will put your link in their associates/network’s websites as long as you put a link to them on yours. This is typically done to boost the number of backlinks (URL from websites that point to your site). It is generally believed that backlinks from high PageRanked (Google standard of Measuring website quality) can greatly improve a website’s visibility.

Migs explained that this is like MLM (Multi Level Marketing). It is like getting commissions everytime I refer a website. So, as I understood it, I’ll get links as long as I send links and refer other websites to them. There is a “weight” value given to your personal sites. Your weight value increases as you refer more sites.

I found a couple of link-building sites that I’d like to experiment on. One is linkvault and the other is Digital Point’s cooperative sharing network. I’m currently experimenting with these cooperative link networks in some of my other sites to see whether they have a significant effect on the overall links. The problem with these backlinks, however is that they are mostly footers, hardly visible, and are usually of low quality. Still, it’s good to experiment. Learn by trying it out.
