Isulong-SEOPH.net and the contest
The Isulong SEOPH contest has begun. I’ve joined for the educational value of it. As you can see, I’ve already reserved a domain name for it. You might not see that site yet as I am still tweaking it a bit.
It would be interesting how the contest would turn out. I hope to learn a lot from the experience. It is a SEO contest - the goal is to reach the top of the search engine results page of Google by September 2006.
For those who aren’t aware yet, SEO actually means Search Engine Optimization. This is a method in which a website is tweaked, edited, and linked-to so that it would reach the top of search engines based on keywords. Short example, type in “sex” on a search engine, say Google.com. What is the first website you see? Now imagine if your website was on the top of those lists. Wouldn’t that be great? Type in “isulong seoph”. What’s the first page you see? As of this date, there are none yet. I’m sure there will be some results coming out by next week. I hope my website will be visible soon.
The contest annoucement has gone around. Aside from the official seophilippines website, you’ll see that contest annouced in kabarkada, macalua.com, yugatech, pinoytechblog, mitolynx, staticbluecreations, blogalicious,and at carmelojosediaz. You can even see it annouced in some family and resort blogs.
I really find this contest rather exciting. I also put high value on the educational side of it. So much so, that I really don’t care about that money that much. In fact, I’m pledging this:
IF I WIN THE ISULONG SEOPH CONTEST, I WILL DONATE THE PRIZES TO CHARITY
No, charity is not the name of a girl. It’s going to whoever charitable organization who deserves it. I’ll post the details of it to my isulong seoph blog.
