Pagerank(PR) basically tells you how important your website is to Google. This is a ranking from 1-10, 10 being the highest. If you have a PR 0, then you are relatively unknown to Google. The experts tell me that this is rather important for Search Engine Optimization. If you install Google toolbar on your browser, you will see a websites PR ranking while you surf it.
This website (jozzua.com) is usually a PR5. I’ve noticed, however, that whenever I post a new entry, the PR goes down to 4. After an hour, or a day, the PR goes back up to 5. If this is any indication of how Google’s algorithm works, then it would definitely give us users an idea of how to somewhat improve our ranking. I am also told that PR is a function of how good/how often other websites link to you.
