Getting Seen in Google Searches

There’s a theory going around that new websites are kept in the ’sandbox’ by search engines until they’ve proven their value. This means that any new website won’t show up in the search results page. Just try setting up a new website and test how long it will take for it to become visible in Google after you submit its URI. It may take a while.

I tested this myself. I submitted this new US-based e-commerce website called zenpcs.com last week, around Monday. It did not come up in whatever searches I made for ‘zenpcs’. This Tuesday I decided to experiment by putting a small Google Adsense Ad just at the bottom of the website. Guess what, it now shows up in Google.

Now that it shows up, I’ll conduct another experiment. I have just removed Adsense on the page. I wonder if the webpage will disappear from the Google Search results page. I’ll give it a week.

This little tidbit may provide useful for those with new websites.

(Note: Zenpcs.com targets US markets for custom desktop computers, custom laptops, servers and other hardware.)
