Not a Snack at Snackaroo (Pinoy Steak)

The next stop on our food hunt was Snackaroo. It was just a block away from Lucky 21. The place itself looked merely like a carenderia. Carenderias are small food shops, not really restaurants. It is basically a "hole in the wall" eatery that specializes in simple yet satisfying cuisine for the ordinary man on the street.
Although it was a street eatery and one might think it would be unhygienic, the place was actually quite clean. There was brown wooden furniture all about. Several people were there and they were enjoying their meals. A relatively well-dressed couple was there nibbling away at their food.
This was recommended for its grilled Steak. We ordered for porterhouse and T-bone. The cook promptly placed meat chunks on the grill iron. It was charcoal-cooked.
After around 15 minutes, the steaks arrived to us drowning in gravy sauce. I could barely see the meat. This was actually ok with me, but this might turn off some steak-lovers. The meat was around a 3rd of an inch think. The meat was juicy and well cooked. It was tender and easy enough to cut with the steak knife.
As I took a bite, I tasted the meat juices spreading on my tongue. It was good and flavorful. The ingredients appeared to include soy sauce and calamansi. I couldn?t help but think that this seems to have been basked in Monosodium Glutamate from Magi Savor (A popular soy sauce brand here in the Philippines). It tasted as much. This is indeed Filipino flavored. Each meal was worth P132 (rice included).
I?d recommend this place to any non-health conscious Filipino.
